~A gothic AU set in the late 1800's~
Konan is an extremely wealthy young woman with no immediate relatives. She is one of the few women at the time to own her own estate, and she is quite mysterious to those who live at the base of the hill. The dark mansion was once a cathedral from the Gothic period, and people say it's haunted.
And one could say it is.
Konan is an aristocratic vampire.
One night, she hosts a masquerade ball, bored out of her wits. Life has been so dull, with few companions and little to do. If anything, she can enjoy selecting her dinner for the evening at this formal event. She ends up slightly shocked at the turnout. Everyone wants to see the infamous ad reclusive Konan and her massive estate. And what she doesn't know is that this night will change her life drastically.
A young and devilishly handsome man makes his way towards her when almost no one else will make conversation with her. Her aura is aloof, and elite, and people can sense the difference between them and her. But not this man. He makes a bold move, asking her to dance. The evening goes by smoothly, and her appetite grows. What a unique human being. He smirks at her as though he knows something she does not.
As the party ends, he manages to slip away with her into a dark hall. He presses her against the wall, and smiles. He leans in. She sighs, wondering what she wants in this moment. Something quells her hunger.
Suddenly, she senses something wet dripping down her torso. She looks down, aghast. A large, once concealed knife was in his hand, blood pouring from her abdomen.
"I'm going to kill you now, pretty lady," he sighs, a crazed look on his face as he traces the blade down her neck. "You will make a great addition to my collection... Too bad you have such a cunning enemy." He slits his dagger across her bare throat.

But things do not go according to his plan.

This took a lot of effort, but I'm super happy with it! I'm happy I've been able to paint backgrounds, now that I magically have patience for them!
